The end of the year is a very important time for us, as we
rely on financial contributions from you to support our work in
the year ahead. We need your help to meet our goal of $10,000 to continue to
create job opportunities for local
youth, improve the neighborhood for older adults, expand access to healthy food, and offer free local tour
programs for residents. Will you help make us continue to strengthen the community?
Mentoring Youth: Through our Young Entrepreneur Mentorship Program (YEMP), we connect local teens with our independently owned businesses for paid summer employment and mentorship experiences. Since 2006, we've served over 100 neighborhood teens. Engaging Seniors: This
past year we were able to make Myrtle Avenue “Age-Friendly”
together with our Senior Advisory Council. We are helping the avenue's businesses better engage the nearly 6,000 seniors who call the Fort
Greene and Clinton Hill neighborhoods home, creating a more inclusive district.
Healthy Food: In the fall, we partnered with City Harvest to launch the Fort Greene & Farragut Fresh Pantry, where nearly 10,000 pounds of fresh food is distributed every month to residents living in Farragut, Ingersoll, and Whitman Houses.
